Oh students have so much fun with this unit! After all the anticipatory activities and non-fiction reading (active guides & keys included) and my examples, they are visibly excited to begin creating their own!
"Can mine be a parody?" YES!
"Can I make mine in honor of my favorite athlete or musician?" YES!
"Can mine take the class back to the smells of junior high dances?" YES!
"Can I make mine about Hemingway?" NO! That's my example! :)
To be used in any ELA class where you want to let students be creative and write a "story" in the format of a movie script. I have the assignment broken down into easy segments so that it is not overwhelming for you or the student.
